Petr Bakus is a community housing leader with more than 20 years of experience in the non-profit housing sector. He currently serves as Interim Director of Operations with the Community Housing Transformation Centre, supporting its work to strengthen and grow community housing across Canada. Prior to joining the Centre, Petr served as Chief Operating Officer with Victoria Park Community Homes in Ontario.

Throughout his career, Petr has held leadership roles spanning operations, property and resident services, organizational development and governance. He has extensive experience working with Boards of Directors, government partners, sector associations and community stakeholders, as well as leading teams and organizational improvement initiatives.

Now based in British Columbia, Petr remains actively engaged in the housing sector through professional and volunteer governance roles. He is committed to strengthening the housing profession, sharing knowledge and supporting the development of current and emerging housing leaders.

Petr is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIHCM) and an Accredited Member of the Institute of Housing Management (AIHM). He holds a Master of Management, Co-operatives and Credit Unions from Saint Mary’s University and a Master’s Certificate in Lean Six Sigma from the Schulich School of Business.
