Petr Bakus is a housing sector leader with more than 20 years of experience advancing affordable and community housing across the non-profit sector. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to operational excellence, organizational leadership, and building sustainable housing solutions that support thriving communities.
Petr has extensive experience working with Boards of Directors, government partners, sector associations, and community stakeholders to strengthen organizational performance and improve housing outcomes. He is recognized for developing high-performing teams, leading complex organizational initiatives, and fostering strategic partnerships that enhance the delivery of housing services.
As he relocates to British Columbia, Petr remains actively engaged in supporting the growth and advancement of the housing profession across Canada. He is passionate about sharing knowledge, mentoring emerging leaders, and contributing to the development of strong, resilient housing organizations.
Petr is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing Canada (CIH Canada) and an Accredited Member of the Institute of Housing Management (IHM). He holds a Master of Management, Co-operatives and Credit Unions from Saint Mary's University and a Master’s Certificate in Lean Six Sigma from the Schulich School of Business.
