So Complicated - RGI Simplified?

We are approaching one year after the deadline to implement the new simplified RGI rules under the amended Housing Services Act. These amendments changed the rules for the determination of geared-to-income rent, with the intention of making calculating RGI rent simpler and easier for tenants to predict and understand and reduce administrative burden. The amendments come into force on July 1, 2020 and were to be implemented by July 1, 2021. It was simple, right? In this presentation we will review the changes to the legislation, look at different scenarios and apply the new rules to calculate RGI.  We will discuss the new minimum rent rules using real examples.
