Successful Approaches for Successful Negotiations and Mediations
The old saying is that you get more with honey than with vinegar. Most often we unknowingly use vinegar. We do it largely from a "me first / you second" standpoint or we try to resolve matters by meeting somewhere in the middle between two extreme positions. But what if there was a better way - a way to encourage win-win through collaboration and develop long-lasting, positive relationships at the same time. This is the essence of an interest-based approach rather than a positional one.
Invariably we need good negotiation skills interlinked with effective communication. And to the extent that mediations are simply facilitated extensions of negotiation, that better way is equally applicable during a mediation but only if the correct mediation model is being used.
In this session you will learn a powerful framework for win-win collaborative negotiations and mediations based on the key principle of “understanding” coupled with practical communication skills that work well together to form powerful tools that yield results.
Attendees will leave this workshop empowered with: 1) a good strategic game plan even before your first meeting, 2) the one element that will make you a powerful negotiator, and 3) how to structure your conversations in a way that develop positive results and strengthen relationships.
